Privacy Policy

Last updated 2 June 2026

Your privacy matters to us, and we keep things deliberately simple. Traveliase is an information site with free in-browser tools — we don't run accounts, take payments or sell insurance, so we collect very little about you.

Template notice: this policy is provided as clear general information about how the site works. It is a starting template and not legal advice. If you operate a similar site, please have your own policy reviewed before relying on it.

Who we are

This site, traveliase.co.uk ("Traveliase", "we", "us"), is operated as an independent UK information and tools site for travel insurance and travel health. For any privacy question you can reach us at [email protected]. We are the controller for the limited personal data described below, handled in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we collect — and what we don't

We keep data collection to a minimum. In practice that means:

  • Contact-form data. If you message us, we receive the details you choose to provide — your name, email address, the topic and your message — so we can reply.
  • Standard server logs. Like almost every website, our host records technical information such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This helps keep the site secure and working.
  • On-device storage (localStorage). Our cookie-consent popup and our tools use your browser's local storage to remember your preferences (for example, your consent choice or a tool setting). This stays on your device and is never sent to us.

Our tools run entirely in your browser. The cover checker and the travel health checklist process your answers locally on your own device. Those answers are not transmitted to us and not stored on any server. We explicitly do not collect, see or keep any health or medical information you think about while using the tools — it never leaves your device.

We do not run user accounts, we do not take bookings or payments, and we are not an insurance broker — so there is no policy, quote, financial or transaction data for us to hold.

Why we use your data (lawful bases)

  • To reply to you — our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries you send us.
  • To keep the site secure and running — our legitimate interest in operating a safe, reliable website (server logs).
  • Analytics, if we add it — only with your consent via the cookie popup. We do not run analytics unless you opt in.

Who processes data for us

  • Our hosting provider stores the site and generates standard server logs on our behalf.
  • Google Fonts. We load fonts from Google's servers, which means your IP address is shared with Google when fonts are requested. If you prefer not to, you can block third-party font requests in your browser.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use a minimal set of cookies and on-device storage. The consent popup records your choice so we don't keep asking. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Full detail is in our Cookie Policy.

How long we keep things

We keep contact messages only as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any reasonable follow-up, then delete them. Server logs are retained for a short period for security and troubleshooting. On-device storage stays until you clear it in your browser.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the personal data we hold about you, to object to certain processing, and to data portability where it applies. Email [email protected] and we'll help. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk.

Children

Traveliase is intended for adults arranging or researching travel. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, please contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the site evolves. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
